BORN SEPTEMBER 4TH
LIVES IN AURAY (56)
Benjamin has had quite an illustrious career. After taking business studies in Nantes, he moved into sales, first in Lyon then in Toulouse, offering food products to the catering industry. He then landed a sales job in Paris, covering the whole of northern France.
Until then, his career was in no way connected to boats, but that all changed the day he saw Safran, a 60-foot monohull. Always eager for new discoveries, Benjamin decided to study high-performance composites in Nantes, after which he was hired by CDK Technologies to work on the trimaran Macif. Later, he returned to Nantes, where he perfected his skills in producing moulds for the automobile and aeronautical industries. Benjamin spent another stint at CDK, building the new mast for Spindrift 2, before being drafted into the Spindrift racing team, where his responsibilities include making composite parts.
