Fred Moreau
Sailor

Born on 23 August 1977 in Pithviers, central France

Fred Moreau acquired his hunger for speed and water sports as a windsurfer. He then tried his hand at sailing 49ers, a somewhat unstable boat, making it ideal for a windsurfer. He quickly stood out and joined the École Nationale de Voile’s Pôle France Voile, a centre for excellence located in the Breton town of Quiberon. Fred suffered an initial setback through injury, but bounced back and began to sail Formule 18 monohulls. Fred met Yann Guichard, Christophe Espagnon, Matthieu Vandame and François Morvan during his “Olympic” years, and has now reunited with them in Spindrift racing’s sailing team. In his first season for the team he won the 2015 Tour de France à la Voile.
